BAPTISMS!

We have the Valient 11 and 12 year old class at out church. They are such a fun group. We both love it. This past tuesday I got off work early and all the kids (all but one:() came to our house after school. They were dressed up and ready to go to do baptisms for the dead at the St George temple. It was such a cool experience for all of us. Only one of the girls had gone before and the rest it was their first time. There were a TON of questions and we loved each one. They were so nervous and excited. The spirit really was there and I saw a difference in each of them that day. It was a great way to end the year with our class.

Merry Christmas!

Its only been about 6 months since I've posted, so Im sorry for the picture overload and stories.

Blake a I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in August and went to Vegas for the night. It was fun and nice to go somewhere. I can't believe its been over a year and we still like each other! I'm excited for all the more years and forever.

We also got the chance to travel from coast to coast in September. One weekend was with Blake's family in San Diego. It was my first time there and it was a blast! I loved it. His family is awesome which made it better. We did a session at the San Diego temple and that was a beautiful experience that I loved! We also went to the beach and the water was absolutely perfect. His Aunt and Uncle took us on a tour of the city and since they had been on some professional tours they knew a lot of history. It was fascinating.

The next weekend we went to Miami and stayed at a beautiful resort in South Beach. It was another awesome trip Blake won for work! (Love you baby for working so hard and being amazing!) The hotel was incredible. It had a beautiful pool area with like 5 pools or something and then when you left the pool you could just walk over to the beach! The weather however was soooo humid and I hated that part. Curly hair and humidity don't play nice together. Anyone seen that Friends episode with Monica and she ended up getting braids and beads in her hair to fix the friz? Yeah that was me but no beads and braids. It was still fun though and we ventured out to downtown and ate at this cuban resaurant and had some delicious authentic cuban food! Honestly probably the highlight of the trip. That and the freshly squeezed florida orange juice. Oh my goodness! I love food:)

October was the Marathon and my boss drives the pace van every year so I asked if I could come and since Blake was running in it we got to drop him off at the start and I got to kiss him and wish him luck:) The starting line was crowded with so many people and a radio station and flags from all over the world! It was exhilerating! And watching the first runner finish was crazy, then we drove back to find the first female runner and she wasn't too far behind. Go runners!!

Later that month my friend Kristin and I decided to take advantage of her flight benefits since she works at skywest airlines and fly to San Francisco. We spend weeks planning and had details of where we were going and Alcatraz tickets booked but when the day came to fly out the flights were booked and since we were stand by we were on a waiting list. It didn't look good. Everyone else I guess wanted to go there too. So since we figured we would be stuck in the airport we decided to go with plan b and fly to Orange County and stay with her parents. It ended up being the vacation we both needed. We shopped, ate her parents amazing cooking, slept in and just relaxed! THATS a vacation. It was fun. Thanks Kristin!

Just before I left for California my sister Ereka had her first baby! Isaac Todd Rignell! So adorable! And we needed some more nephews with all of the girls in the family. They are such a cute family.

And of course you can't forget Halloween! I love the funky scary food creations, costumes, trick or treaters and decorations. Blake was Bob Barker and I was a crazy Bob fan. We went to our friends Brady and Lyndsay's house and played some way fun and embarrassing games! It was a fun night.

November came and of course we couldn't stay in one place yet again so we left to see my family in Idaho! We celebrated an early Thanksgiving dinner and took family pictures with my grandparents. It was so fun. We also went to see Blake's old roommate speak at his "fairwell." Cool story... Years ago when they lived together he kept saying he would go on a mission and never did. Blake said "when you do go on a mission, wherever I am I will go to your farewell." Sure enough he decided to go and I tell you I have never heard a more powerful talk. It was so cool to see that change in him. Good luck Steve!

Thanksgiving was fun, Blake and I decided to stay put and take advantage of the day off. His family decided to come to us! WE didn't have to go anywhere and we still got to be with family. We were thrilled. We even got a free turkey! Blake, Ereka and I decided to go to the turkey trot and run the 5k. Ereka and I decided to walk since its been awhile that we've ran and she just had a kid ya know. we ended up only walking a mile cuz we were late but still got in for the drawings and sure enough won a turkey!! It was the best turkey ever too! Oven bags btw are my new cooking friends!

The furthest we have traveled is Mesquite for Blake's work Christmas party and then for Christmas we will go to Delta to spend with his family! I think we can handle that:)

Merry Christmas everyone and today was a great morning to get me more in the spirit of Christmas! Beautiful snow!

Internet connects at The Nielson's

Its been forever since I have blogged and somehow I have survived. Crazy. Life has been super busy and really hot here in St George. We are all moved in to our house and we LOVE it. Hopefully we can start throwing some parties now. Here is some of what we have been up to....

Idaho with my fam for Memorial weekend. The boys all got haircuts from each other:)

My mom came from Michigan to spend time with all of us. This is my sister Valerie, me, Mom, and my brother's wife Brittany

Valerie getting ready for dinner. I love this picture! Cleaver and a smile. Not a good combo.

The kids sucked into one of their shows. Eva may or may not be picking her nose...

When we got our house Blake's biggest thing was The Basketball Court. Here he is in the hot garage putting together his masterpiece.

Blake's cousin got married in the Provo temple this weekend. I love going to the temple! As you can see Blake is keeping the same hairstyle, I still think he is adorable though

The beautiful Provo temple.

6 inches = Big change for Annie

Got a new hair cut and I love it! I like how Amber does before and after pictures and since this was drastic for me I definitely wanted to take pictures. I have always had long hair and didn't know how to do it but since my hair is curly I kept it long. I kept saying I was going to cut it but couldn't get the nerve to do it. Finally I got sick of it. I emailed Lashel a bunch of pictures for ideas and said do whatever you think is cute and she did awesome! When Blake saw me for the first time he liked it but said "I feel like a polygamist and you're my other wife" He just wasn't used to it yet and said I looked way different. The good part is I don't regret it...yet.

"Because you're not that guy"

My birthday is coming up (okay in like two months) and I may or may not have been dropping hints to Blake because he just needs a little nudge on special days:) Anyway it made me think of this commercial and am sooooo glad Blake isn't THAT guy!
(And no honey that wasn't a hint that I want diamonds don't worry.)

Our New House!

So I may or may not be more excited than all of you for this whole building a house process but I just want to show you where we drive every night. It is great how fast these guys work because every night there is something major different. Some of these pictures aren't the best I'm sorry. And p.s. I'm learning a lot about all this so my vocab may be quite off:)

Just the lot (hidden is the outline of the house where the footings are) It was really cool walking around on flat ground and say here is our kitchen, here is our bathroom.........

This one doesn't look too much different but you can see holes where they dug for the foundation

This is obviously night but there was actual rooms with walls! It was so cool! They even had our tubs inside.

This was today and that guy is just walking on our roof and putting up plywood:) I get so giddy every time we drive by.

RANDOM PICS!

My boss got tickets to Starry Starry Night at Tuacahn but forgot graduation for his son was that night so we got to go with some friends in their place to an awesome benefit for the Alzheimer's Association with dinner and then got to see Idol's in concert! It was fun to dress up for a fun date.

OK this one is way random but this year I'm attempting a garden and have been way excited UNTIL I found this as I was weeding and I pulled a weed and touched this bugger! He's camouflage! After that I said forget it, we're moving anyway. Needless to say our garden has a lot of weeds.
